Today I was wide eyed and excited when I saw the article in the News Feed section in my local Birmingham News. It seems that a wrecked ship reappeared in the Gulf Shores area. It is thought to be the three-masted schooner Rachel. The ship ran aground in the early 1900′s and recently reappeared during Tropical Storm Ida about two weeks ago.
My great great grandfather, Frank De Angelo was the builder of this beautiful vessel that sailed the Gulf. I do hope that the powers that be will decide to preserve what is left of her and allow others to share in this glimpse into our history.

I just hope one day that I can leave a legecy like Grandpa Frank for others to enjoy. At least I am on my way with two books under my belt, another one coming soon. www.thepowertosayyes.org I think Grandpa Frank would be proud.
What a great day for our family to celebrate our past! Something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Eve.
