America’s Impression Engineer Weighs In on BP Chief Executive Tony Hayward’s Opening Testimony on CNBC June 17, 2010

Articles, Make Your Best Impression Blog, News & Testimonials, Press Room / Media   ·   June 17, 2010

I find it quite interesting that the media is focusing on the body language and the so called smirk on the face of BP Chief Executive Tony Hayward.

First, think of the gravity and stress of the situation. Secondly, there is a cultural difference in decorum from those in Great Britain as opposed to those from the United States. Spending the time to continue to roll BP over the coals is not helping matters. Yes, they need to do what they can in the most immediate manner to address the environmental, psychological and financial concerns of the Gulf Coast. I am from the Gulf Coast and my heart goes out to my neighbors.

With that being said, we need to listen and also watch to see what happens. Mr. Haywood did say that he understands that mere words are not what are needed, action is necessary.

To make comments about how he responded to the protestor or the words he used is really irresponsible. This is something that we have never encountered before, and the question that we should ask is, how we move forward? What are the steps we need to take today to mitigate the damage on the Gulf Coast while the ultimate solution is being designed?

Yes, we need to why it happen to prevent it in the future; however, right now we just need to focus on the effort to stop the leak and clean up the coast. Pointing fingers and calling names of for the playground. It is time what we all grow up.

I want to thank all those out there that are working in the cleanup efforts.  Also I am hopefully and encouraged that BP as a company is responding to the crisis and trying to find the best way to meet the needs of our people.

I am not saying that this is my devastating. What I am saying is let’s focus on how to solve the issue and work together.
