If you are thinking about achieving a level of inner simplicity, no doubt you’ve already taken steps to simplify other areas of your life. But if you haven’t, you might think about how reducing the complexities of your life can contribute to your inner growth.
As I look back, I see that it’s not just having the time, it’s the quality of the time that makes the difference for my inner explorations. You’ll find it’s much easier to enjoy the full benefits of your quiet time if you’re able to reduce the distractions and the energy drains as well.
People often take up yoga or meditation to relieve the pressures of their lives, and to find inner peace. But frequently, unless they’ve made a conscious effort to make changes in other areas—such as reducing their workload or cutting back on their social obligations—their frenetic lifestyle gets in the way. The inner quest becomes difficult, and it falls by the wayside.
Spend some time thinking about the things you could do to make your life easier.
Simplifying will help create the peace and stability you need to launch into and continue your journey.
